As we have no physical facility we rely solely on Foster homes so that we can help and take on the animals that come into our care. Humphrey’s Plea

 We are desperately seeking a long term foster home for Humphrey Bogart.  Humphrey came into our care on Sunday morning during our back breaking but very rewarding, West Bay dog wash – over 40 dogs turned out for spa treatment!  

Humphrey was found in a bit of a state.  He has nasty puncture wound to one of his back legs which has become quite badly infected and the infection has now spread to his bone, so it is an old injury.  He currently is unable to use this back leg but with time, medication and lots of love we are confident he will regain full use of it.  He is extremely thin and sadly has also tested positive for Heartworm.   However, despite all of his ailments he still wags his tail and enjoys nothing more than a warm cuddle and a bit of loving. 

In the spirit of all our wonderful canines we would like to adapt their outlook for Humphrey and concentrate on his healing and future and not his horrible past.   We however need help in doing this.  Humphrey is an older boy – approximately 10 years old.  He is currently unaltered.  Due to his health we need to get his leg and the infection cleared up first and then we can start the Heartworm treatment, however due to his age and condition this will have to be done using the more lengthy slow kill treatment method.  Once this is complete and he has built his weight up some – with what we are hearing from the vet, he loves his food )  so that should not be a problem, then we can get the little old man neutered and into a forever home.
